Advantages & Disadvantages of Computers in the Workplace.

Advantage: Communication: The presence of computers in the workplace has revolutionized the speed and spread of business communications. Before computers, businesspeople communicated by letter, telephone or fax. Email presents several advantages. Advantage: Replication: Workplaces that deal with a lot of replication now save thousands of hours every year by using computers. Disadvantage: Distraction: The immense capabilities of a computer can be as easily applied to games and Internet chat rooms as to relevant work, and many unmotivated or malingering employees take advantage of this fact. Disadvantage: Technical Problems: Like many other tools, computers are appreciated until they suddenly stop doing what they were designed to do. Unlike with many other tools, the ability to fix a computer is a specialized skill that most workers don't possess.
