Iesco cuts power to Imran,s Bani Gala residence
ISLAMABAD The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) on Monday cut off power supply to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan,s Bani Gala residence. Iesco has cited non-payment of electricity dues as the reason of disconnecting electricity supply to Imran,s residence. Imran,s Bani Gala residence has three power connections — two for the main residence and a third for a tube-well. Earlier in September, federal minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif had said at a news conference that Imran had been paying his electricity bills despite having given a call for civil disobedience on Aug 18. However, days later, on Sept 20, Imran set fire to his electricity bill receiving cheers from a crowd at PTI,s Islamabad sit-in. Imran gave a call for civil disobedience on Aug 18 and asked people not to pay taxes and utility bills to force the government accept his party,s demands.
