Microsoft warns against the use of Windows XP and Office 2003
Microsoft has once again warned its users against continued use of Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003 after deadline of 8th April 2014. Microsoft has urged its users who are stubborn to go on using obsolete Operating system (OS) and Office utilities to switch over to latest versions before the deadline otherwise the security risks to their devices would be huge. Not only these people will be vulnerable to hacking but will also be deprived of technical advances made in the field of PC technology. Tech company has also warned against the use of outdated operating system as they’ll no longer be compatible with new hardware due to non-availability of optimized drivers. Microsoft puts Windows 8.1 and office 365 as the suitable transformations for current users of old software. Windows XP that was launched back in 2001 has huge following and has the 2nd largest desktop OS user base with a 30% market share. Office 2003, according to a survey, is still being used by 28% offices.
