Punjab Government to distribute free solar lamps to public

Keeping in mind the severe energy crisis in Pakistan which becomes even worst during the peak usage time, the government is up to tackle this situation and is preparing to provide solar lamps to the general public.Solar lamps For this reason, the Chairman of Planning and Development Department Punjab, Mr. Muhammad Irfan Elahi, while chairing a meeting, has ordered to prepare different packages for the distribution of solar lamps among the masses in order to to fulfil the electricity needs. The meeting held at Civil Secretariat Lahore just recently in which officials from Energy Department Punjab were also present. They briefed the Chairman P&D about the solar lamps distribution process. Members of the provincial assembly including Ayesha Ghous Pasha and Malik Rafique, Member P&D Agha Waqar, Senior Chief Energy Sohail Shahzad and different other high-rank Government officials also attended the meeting. Though, Punjab Government has initiated a lot of projects to install solar panels throughout the province which are proved to be very fruitful but it is high time for the concerned government officials to monitor such projects vigilantly as several irregularities and infringements are being observed out of which the Racecourse Park Lahore (also known as Jilani Park) is one example.
