Mercy Corps is seeking a dedicated X-Ray Technician (Portable Machine) to support its Tuberculosis (TB) case detection and screening program in Khanewal District. The role involves operating portable X-ray machines at health facilities and outreach camps to identify and support missing TB cases. The selected candidate will work closely with project coordinators and field teams to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality screening services.
Conduct X-ray screening at designated health facilities and outreach camps six days a week.
Ensure proper coordination with field teams and supervisors to execute the screening plan effectively.
Operate and maintain portable X-ray machines in line with safety and technical standards.
Guide patients through the X-ray process, ensuring informed verbal consent and privacy.
Record patient details in the MIT Register and update the Management Information System (MIS) regularly.
Manage patient flow and minimize waiting time during screening camps.
Provide high-quality X-ray services and assist with proper patient positioning.
Ensure safety by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and using dosimeters as per Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA) guidelines.
Report technical issues promptly to the Project Coordinator and Program Officer for Portable X-rays.
Maintain X-ray equipment, record maintenance activities, and ensure timely submission of daily and monthly reports.
Coordinate sputum sample collection for patients with abnormal X-rays.
Participate in training for Portable X-ray operations, printers, and CAD4TB software.
Submit dosimeters quarterly to the country office in collaboration with PINSTECH for radiation monitoring.
Hands-on experience in operating portable X-ray machines and conducting screening camps.
Ability to work full-time within healthcare facilities and outreach sites across Khanewal.
Strong communication and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary field teams.
Knowledge of patient handling, consent, and radiation safety procedures.
Basic data management and record-keeping skills, including experience with MIS systems.
Commitment to maintaining high safety and ethical standards during all screening operations.
Diploma or certification in Radiology, Medical Imaging Technology, or related health sciences.
Experience in Tuberculosis control programs or public health projects.
Familiarity with CAD4TB software and digital X-ray equipment.
