At Mobilink Microfinance Bank Limited (MMBL), the Relationship Officer – Deposit is responsible for managing and growing deposit relationships with individual and business clients. The role focuses on acquiring new customers, retaining existing ones, building a strong liability portfolio, and ensuring clients’ deposit banking needs are met effectively while supporting overall business growth.
Execute customer acquisition strategies to build a healthy liability portfolio and achieve deposit growth and cross-sell targets.
Develop and manage a strong CALSA and Term Deposit (TD) customer portfolio within agreed timelines.
Achieve assigned portfolio targets for CALSA, Savings Accounts (SA), and Term Deposits on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Onboard Freelancers and Brand Ambassadors to form a retail deposit mobilization team of up to 25 members.
Maintain the targeted portfolio mix between CASA and Term Deposits.
Mobilize fairly priced deposits to support sustainable retail deposit growth through multiple accounts.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key prospective and existing clients.
Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and strategies while coordinating effectively with internal branch teams.
Maintain daily deposit mobilization and New-to-Bank (NTB) account opening run rates.
Understand client challenges and collaborate with Relationship Managers (RM) and Branch Managers (BM) to address customer needs.
Identify and pursue cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within the existing customer base.
Monitor competitor activities to proactively retain and satisfy MMBL clients.
Deliver excellent customer service to uphold a positive brand image.
Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Line Manager efficiently and effectively.
Bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or an equivalent discipline.
Sound understanding of deposit products and their functionality.
Strong knowledge of CASA fundamentals and strategies to drive CASA growth.
Preferably a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in sales, relationship management, or operations within retail/consumer banking or a related industry.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
