The Technical Market Development (TMD) Manager plays a critical role in converting Syngenta’s technical strength into measurable field-level impact. This role focuses on driving high-quality field demonstrations, strengthening stakeholder trust, and enabling successful product adoption through strong agronomic expertise and technical leadership.
The position is responsible for effective knowledge transfer, technical training, digital innovation, and product launch support—ensuring Syngenta’s solutions deliver tangible value to growers while supporting sustainable business growth.
Execute “Reasons to Believe” demonstrations aligned with brand messaging
Build stakeholder confidence through the “Seeing is Believing” approach
Maintain demonstration plots as Centers of Excellence
Actively participate in portfolio leadership meetings
Provide practical, field-based inputs for future portfolio development
Build and strengthen relationships with:
Government agricultural departments
Academic and research institutions
Sugar mill management and technical staff
Value chain and industry partners
Design and deliver structured training on:
Crop husbandry practices
Application technology
Product profiles and positioning
Enhance internal technical capability
Share best practices and success stories across regions
Support successful product launches
Organize farmer seminars and high-profile grower meetings
Coordinate Learning & Development Center activities
Provide expert agronomic and technical guidance
Handle product-related complaints professionally
Implement effective and timely resolution strategies
Coach and mentor team members
Identify high-potential talent and support leadership development
Set clear goals using SMART objectives and performance KPIs
Promote a culture of discipline, excellence, and continuous improvement
Develop and manage the annual TMD budget aligned with crop and portfolio strategy
Improve efficiency and productivity of TMD activities
Ensure full compliance with Syngenta financial and governance policies
Collaborate with procurement for cost-effective sourcing
Create impactful technical content and literature
Capture high-quality field images and insights
Support marketing campaigns with strong technical input
Lead agricultural digitalization initiatives
Develop engaging technical publications and videos
Promote digital tools for agronomic learning and outreach
Ensure crop-wise material approvals
Maintain technical accuracy across all communications
