Learning and Development Officer (History & Geography) – READ Foundation

Job Description

Since 1994, READ Foundation has been empowering communities through quality education. The organization has supported over 130,000 children, including 14,000 orphaned children, across Pakistan. READ Foundation collaborates with government schools, manages learning centers, and delivers emergency and rehabilitation support in crisis-affected areas.

Position Overview

READ Foundation is seeking a Learning and Development Officer (History & Geography) to support the design, development, and implementation of high-quality educational content and teacher training programs. The selected candidate will work closely with academic teams, field staff, and partner institutions to enhance instructional quality and learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop educational resource materials including lesson plans, assessments, question banks, training manuals, and audio-visual content.
Review and improve curriculum materials, textbooks, and teaching-learning resources.
Conduct needs assessments and support framework development for teacher training programs.
Plan, organize, and facilitate face-to-face and on-the-job teacher training sessions.
Provide continuous professional support to teachers and academic teams across schools.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for educational initiatives.
Monitor, document, and analyze program activities and outcomes.
Prepare reports, case studies, and documentation showcasing best practices.
Support research, data collection, and evaluation activities.
Perform additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Education Requirements

Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline from an HEC-recognized university.

Experience Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in training and material development.
Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, review, and teacher training.
Strong subject knowledge in History and Geography.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field-based environments.

Job Type: Regular / Full-Time
Field Work Requirement: 60–70% travel
