Position Purpose

The Deputy Manager – Employee Relations is responsible for managing and overseeing all employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with labor laws, promoting a positive workplace culture, and maintaining fair and consistent application of company policies. This role acts as a strategic partner to management and employees, supporting organizational effectiveness through proactive conflict resolution and risk management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex or high-risk employee relations cases, including harassment, discrimination, misconduct, and employee grievances.

  • Mediate disputes between employees and management to ensure constructive and timely resolution.

  • Conduct or oversee investigations in accordance with company policies and applicable legal standards.

  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and follow-up of investigation outcomes.

  • Interpret and apply labor laws, regulations, and internal HR policies to ensure equitable treatment of employees.

  • Recommend and implement updates to HR policies and procedures in line with legal or organizational changes.

  • Provide expert guidance and training to managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and workplace conduct.

  • Support line managers in preparing documentation and executing formal disciplinary processes.

  • Monitor trends and patterns in employee relations issues and provide insights to HR leadership for continuous improvement.

  • Maintain complete and confidential records of all employee relations activities.

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies at all times.


Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferably in HR, Business Administration, or a related field).

  • Minimum 06 to 08 years of relevant experience in employee relations or human resources.


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and conflict-management abilities.

  • Proven time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

  • Sound knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
