Senior Manager – Segments – Telenor Pakistan

Job Description

As Senior Manager – Segments, you will play a critical role in driving prepaid business performance by owning revenue, recharge growth, and overall P&L for assigned segments. This role requires strong strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and end-to-end ownership of segment value propositions, products, and marketing initiatives.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams across regions and head office to design, launch, and optimize products and promotions that enhance customer engagement, reduce churn, and maximize revenue.


Key Responsibilities

Business & Revenue Ownership

  • Own prepaid revenue, recharge performance, and full P&L management for assigned segments

  • Define, execute, and evolve segment-wise value propositions through product portfolios and promotions

  • Develop, maintain, and track forecasts and business performance metrics

  • Own ambitions related to revenue, recharge, active base, churn, and usage/engagement

Product & Segment Strategy

  • Lead end-to-end product and offer design in collaboration with internal stakeholders

  • Plan and execute product, pricing, and promotional initiatives to drive activity and revenue

  • Formulate and own micro-segmentation strategies and ensure execution via the CLM team

  • Continuously assess product strengths, weaknesses, and competitive positioning

Marketing & Execution

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing plans (ATL & BTL) aligned with overall strategy

  • Ensure smooth execution of segment and circle strategies across regional and head-office teams

Analytics & Insights

  • Monitor competition using traffic trends, market research, and internal data sources

  • Generate actionable insights through in-depth analysis of KPIs, customer behavior, and market dynamics

  • Regularly update management on business performance, risks, and growth opportunities

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Coordinate with Sales, Planning, Marketing, Commercial Finance, BPO, Legal, and Corporate teams

  • Lead, mentor, and support team members across multiple streams

  • Enable effective reporting, analysis, and strategic capability development within the team


A Typical Day at Work

  • Analyze recharge, revenue, traffic, and subscriber trends to identify growth opportunities

  • Build business cases by assessing impact, ROI, and feasibility through data analysis

  • Collaborate with Product Development teams to implement approved products or tariffs

  • Design and execute promotional plans to maximize uptake and results

  • Conduct competitor and product performance analysis

  • Share performance insights with stakeholders to enable better business decisions

What We’re Looking For

Education

  • MBA / MS in Management Sciences or equivalent, with strong business acumen and decision-making skills

Experience

  • 8–9 years of relevant experience in marketing, strategy, or new product development, preferably within technology-driven organizations

  • Proven experience in leading teams with revenue and P&L ownership

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent negotiation and decision-making abilities, especially in ambiguous situations

  • Deep understanding of the Pakistani telecom industry

  • Strong analytical mindset with creativity and commercial insight

  • Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments

  • Customer-centric mindset with passion for exceeding expectations

  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proactive, resilient, and open to feedback and challenges

  • Proven experience in product development, project management, or functional architecture roles
