Job Overview

Meezan Bank Limited, Pakistan’s premier Islamic bank, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader – SME to strengthen and expand its SME portfolio. The role focuses on business growth, risk management, team leadership, and ensuring full compliance with Islamic banking principles and regulatory requirements.


Eligibility Criteria

Education

  • Minimum 16 years of education in Commerce, Banking & Finance, or Economics from an HEC-recognized university/institute
    OR

  • ACCA qualified

Experience

  • 10 to 12 years of proven experience in SME relationship management


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive SME business growth by acquiring new clients and strengthening relationships with existing customers across targeted market segments.

  • Review and approve Credit Proposals, Credit Memos, and Transactions prepared by Relationship Managers in line with Meezan Bank’s policies and Shariah framework.

  • Present SME financing cases to approving authorities with strong financial analysis and risk assessment.

  • Market and structure Islamic financing solutions, including SBP subsidized schemes, tailored to SME client needs.

  • Ensure strict adherence to Turnaround Time (TAT) for efficient transaction processing and timely disbursements.

  • Monitor portfolio quality and risk exposure, ensuring alignment with industry standards and the bank’s risk appetite.

  • Recommend credit facilities within approved authority limits based on comprehensive financial and credit analysis.

  • Conduct client visits to evaluate business operations and prepare detailed visit and inspection reports.

  • Ensure completion of all facility and security documentation in compliance with approvals, Shariah guidelines, and internal processes.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing SME team, promoting collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong SME financial analysis and credit evaluation skills

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and people management capabilities

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications

  • Effective problem-solving and communication skills (written & verbal)

  • Sound understanding of Islamic banking principles (preferred)
