The General Banking Officer (GBO) is responsible for delivering efficient customer service and handling all branch-level banking operations in compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. This role includes account management, cash operations, administrative support, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Provide prompt and professional service to branch customers according to defined service and quality indicators.
Handle customer queries, complaints, and refer them to appropriate services.
Guide walk-in customers and actively cross-sell bank products.
Manage account opening and related processes including:
Dormancy marking/removal
Stop payments marking/revoking
Account closures
SOA issuance
Loan account opening and closing
Deceased account marking/removal
Level migration for Core and JazzCash customers
Participate in Gold Loan assessments.
Prepare deceased customer refund cases and maintain records.
Perform all non-financial transactions accurately as per SOPs.
Prepare reports for submission to CSM and Head Office.
Act as backup teller and process cash deposits/withdrawals per operations manual.
Ensure accurate cash sorting and identification of counterfeit notes.
Process cheque deposits and clearing instruments accurately.
Ensure cash balancing at end of day (physical cash vs. T24 system).
Maintain cash-related registers and reports including Teller Daily Cash Record, SBP Sheet, Vault Position, and Average Sheet.
Perform FT, TT, and clearing entries accurately.
Verify fixed assets annually and reconcile registers.
Maintain security stationery and be custodian along with other officers.
Maintain all branch registers and records accurately and up to date.
Scan and upload SS cards daily.
Issue and destroy cheque books, banker’s cheques, and TDRs with proper balancing.
Custodian of allocated keys and stamps.
Perform other responsibilities assigned by the Line Manager.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution in a relevant field.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in banking operations.
