About the Role

Telenor Pakistan is looking for a skilled and driven Assistant Manager – Cloud Security Planning & Deployment (Core) to strengthen the security posture of its Telco Core Cloud platforms. This role is ideal for a technology professional who thrives on innovation, enjoys working in complex environments, and is passionate about building secure, resilient, and future-ready cloud infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Technical Impact

  • Support the design, planning, and deployment of security solutions across Telenor Pakistan’s Telco Core Cloud platforms.

  • Ensure security controls are embedded into High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), and deployment architectures for NFVi, VNFs/CNFs, and Huawei Cloud environments.

  • Drive the adoption of cloud-native and DevSecOps security practices, including CI/CD security, container security, and automation.

  • Strengthen the resilience, compliance, and cyber defense posture of Core Network infrastructure.

  • Support the integration of enterprise security tools across Core Cloud platforms.


Your Typical Day Will Include

  • Designing and supporting secure Huawei Cloud deployments for Core Network services.

  • Developing security architecture documentation (HLDs/LLDs) for NFVi, VNFs, and containerized workloads.

  • Planning and designing security frameworks for:

    • Identity & Access Management (IAM/PAM)

    • Resource isolation and segmentation

    • IDS/IPS, EDR, flow monitoring, logging, and auditing

  • Assisting with vulnerability management integration using tools such as Prisma Cloud, Qualys, or Tenable.

  • Supporting SIEM integration designs (e.g., Splunk) for Core Cloud workloads.

  • Embedding security controls into CI/CD pipelines, including vulnerability scanning and compliance validation.

  • Supporting POCs and vendor evaluations for Core Cloud security solutions.

  • Providing security inputs during acceptance testing and deployment approvals.

  • Preparing risk assessments, vulnerability dashboards, and remediation plans.

What We’re Looking For

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Telecom Engineering from a reputable institution.

Experience

  • 5–6 years of relevant experience in Telco Core Cloud Security design and deployment.

  • Hands-on experience with Huawei Cloud security is strongly preferred.

  • Exposure to:

    • SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, Elastic)

    • Vulnerability management tools (Prisma Cloud, Nessus, Qualys)

    • Container and cloud-native security platforms

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CISSP, CCSP, CEH

  • HCIA / HCIP – Cloud Service Security

  • Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)

  • Splunk or Elastic SIEM certifications


Functional Skills & Knowledge Areas

  • Strong understanding of Telco Core Cloud architectures, including VNFs, NFVi, and orchestration layers.

  • Proven expertise in cloud security architecture, including:

    • Resource isolation for NFVi workloads

    • Next-generation firewalls (NGFW), firewall clustering, and Core NFVi firewall integration

    • Data protection and encryption (TLS, IPsec, KMS)

    • IAM/PAM (RBAC, MFA, privileged access)

    • IDS/IPS and SDN/NFVi security integration

    • Flow-based monitoring (NetFlow, packet mirroring)

    • Centralized logging and auditing (Splunk, FortiSIEM)

    • Vulnerability management frameworks

  • Hands-on knowledge of OpenStack and Kubernetes security controls.

  • Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines with integrated security tooling.

  • Strong understanding of Linux hardening and virtualization security.

  • Familiarity with automation and scripting tools (Ansible, Python, Bash).
