As an Assistant Manager – IP Network & Security Planning, you will play a pivotal role in designing, planning, deploying, and optimizing Telenor’s IP and SDN network infrastructure, ensuring network security, and enabling seamless integration across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Network Design & Planning:

• Design, plan, implement, troubleshoot, and optimize IP Core and SDN networks (Huawei Cloud Stack HCS, Nokia Cloud Nuage).

• Develop architecture diagrams and high-/low-level design for all IP/SDN/Firewall network projects.

• Evaluate network design evolution based on NFV, CNF, SDN technologies, and emerging trends.

• Implement and optimize protocols such as SRv6, EVPN, VxLAN, IGP, BGP, MPLS, ACLs, IPS, IDS, NAT.

• Conduct traffic analysis to identify KPI deviations and capacity issues, initiating corrective actions.

Project & Financial Management:

• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking for the network planning unit.

• Oversee procurement processes and project capitalization, ensuring cost control.

• Schedule and verify critical rollout, expansion, and upgrade activities, ensuring proper test plans.

Implementation & Integration:

• Execute configuration loading, hardware/software upgrades, system integration, and link/subscriber migrations.

• Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors for smooth project delivery.

• Integrate IP network with Core nodes, VAS, and billing systems.

• Deep dive into technical design discussions to ensure E2E IP Network solution optimization and simplify complex designs.

What We’re Looking For

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Telecom Engineering from a reputable institute.

Experience:

• 5–6 years of experience in mobile network planning, design, implementation, and optimization.

• 5+ years’ experience in large-scale data/voice network & security planning.

• Hands-on experience with IP routers, switches (Huawei, ZTE), SDN (Huawei, Nokia), Firewalls (Huawei, Juniper), and network management platforms (NCE Fabric, HiSec).

• Experience with Huawei and multi-vendor platforms.

Certifications (Preferred):

• HCIE (Datacom, Cloud, Security) or equivalent.

• Linux, Oracle, or other relevant certifications.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

• Deep understanding of network architecture, planning, implementation, and optimization.

• Strong knowledge of mobile technologies (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G).

• Hands-on experience with firewalls, security policies, NAT, QOS, routing, traffic flow, and security hardening.

• Familiarity with Linux and open-source network applications.

• Ability to handle network BOQs, vendor quotations, and solution verification.

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder/vendor management abilities.

• Positive attitude, logical thinking, and ability to work under pressure.
