Role Overview

The Banking Services Manager (BSM) is responsible for overseeing end-to-end branch operations while ensuring strict compliance with bank policies, internal controls, and SBP prudential regulations. The role involves leading branch operations staff, maintaining high service standards, managing operational risks, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The BSM also handles HR and administrative matters for branch staff and coordinates closely with internal departments to ensure smooth banking operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and uplift the branch operations team, acting as the primary supervisor of branch affairs.

  • Work in close coordination with the Branch Manager to achieve optimal operational and service outcomes.

  • Ensure full compliance with bank policies, SOPs, internal controls, and SBP prudential regulations.

  • Create and maintain a customer-centric environment that delivers superior service standards.

  • Ensure staff operate strictly in line with SOPs and controls, including timely staff rotation where required.

  • Enforce dual-control principles and ensure confidentiality of cash safe keys, test keys, and system passwords.

  • Ensure all system inputs and outputs are jointly authorized, properly sealed, and maintained on record.

  • Coordinate and facilitate internal, external, SBP, and internal control audits, and ensure timely compliance with audit observations.

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to cash-in-safe and cash-on-counter limits.

  • Prepare and submit MIS, confirmations, and official reports as required by management and regulators.

  • Oversee timely resolution of customer complaints in line with defined TATs.

  • Ensure independent account balancing and monthly reconciliation of suspense, excess, shortage, and prepaid expense accounts.

  • Supervise maintenance and periodic balancing of security stationery as per SOP.

  • Oversee account opening operations and ensure proper documentation and record maintenance.

  • Ensure daily balancing of cash books, vault positions, and preparation of all required operational reports.

  • Supervise operations across all banking functions including deposits, cash, bills, inward/outward clearing, remittances, HRD, credits, JazzCash, borrower and non-borrower accounts, recoveries, and related activities.

  • Authorize and supervise all financial and non-financial transactions in real time, ensuring no transaction remains unauthorized at day-end.

  • Ensure availability of adequate staff backup for critical operational positions.

  • Monitor staff punctuality, discipline, and adherence to bank dress code.

  • Nominate staff for training and development in consultation with Line Manager.

  • Maintain close coordination between internal departments for seamless business operations.

  • Monitor staff conduct and report any suspicious activity in a timely manner.

  • Supervise custody and record-keeping of PDCs, gold, passbooks, duplicate keys, ATM combination codes, and other security items.

  • Manage HR and administrative matters related to branch staff.

  • Ensure completion of all end-of-day processes, verification of physical vouchers, and proper stitching with user activity reports.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Line Manager.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Commerce, or a related field from a reputable institution.

  • MBA preferred (subject to approval).

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant banking or branch operations experience.
