Job Purpose

As a Safety Manager, you will play a key role in implementing Unilever’s Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) strategy, ensuring safe operations and sustainable environmental practices. This role requires proactive leadership, effective stakeholder engagement, and the ability to deliver measurable safety and environmental results in a dynamic, performance-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement global and cluster SHE policies, standards, and strategies at the site.

• Lead SHE teams to deliver occupational health, safety, and environmental goals.

• Conduct risk assessments and implement effective controls to mitigate hazards.

• Reduce the site’s environmental impact (waste, emissions, energy, and water use).

• Champion the SHE Pillar in alignment with ManEx.

• Support deployment of the Unilever Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) program.

• Advise and influence line management on safety and environmental leadership.

• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance with SHE standards.

• Conduct incident investigations, trend analysis, and internal audits.

• Identify training needs and support delivery of SHE training programs.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

• Experience in supply chain, manufacturing, or engineering operations.

• Strong analytical and project management skills.

Preferred:

• 7+ years in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

• Advanced degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or Environmental Sustainability.
