Job Purpose

The Department Manager – E-Commerce is responsible for overseeing online operations, inventory management, goods receiving, and team supervision to ensure smooth, accurate, and efficient e-commerce fulfillment while maintaining METRO’s operational and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and organize the acceptance, storage, and movement of goods to ensure optimal space utilization and quality control

  • Lead, train, and supervise online/e-commerce operations staff to ensure productivity and service excellence

  • Ensure accuracy and availability of stock in the online area and monitor the technical condition of systems, instruments, and operational equipment

  • Handle, verify, and maintain delivery documentation; conduct daily label checks

  • Ensure accurate data entry in GMS / SCS systems in accordance with approved SOPs

  • Receive physical merchandise, verify quantities, and move stock efficiently from GR area to warehouse

  • Organize pallet stock-taking and oversee pallet handling to minimize losses and ensure accountability

  • Investigate supplier and invoice discrepancies, validate deviations, and ensure corrective actions are taken

  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance standards in the goods receiving and storage areas to prevent accidents

  • Select and manage appropriate stock codes to address natural rebates

  • Coordinate with Buyers and Logistics teams to share operational insights, challenges, and improvement solutions

  • Monitor departmental performance regularly and implement corrective measures to ensure smooth operations


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or Intermediate qualification

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or e-commerce/retail logistics
