The Area Manager Collections – Specialized Asset Management (SAM) is responsible for managing end-to-end recovery operations for defaulted, specialized, and charged-off portfolios within the assigned area. This role ensures strong field execution, portfolio continuity, regulatory compliance, and achievement of recovery targets in line with approved SAM strategies and governance frameworks.
Execute approved recovery strategies for:
90+ DPD accounts
Management-declared default portfolios
Charged-off assets
Drive focused recovery actions through:
Settlements
Regularization
Resolution strategies
Monitor recovery performance and prevent portfolio stagnation.
Support escalation of cases for:
Asset-backed recovery
Legal and litigation actions, where required.
Directly supervise Team Leads and Field Collection & Default Officers (FCDOs).
Ensure:
Complete customer coverage
Timely and effective field visits
Accurate documentation of visits, calls, and Promises-to-Pay (PTPs)
Conduct regular field reviews to assess quality and effectiveness of recovery interactions.
Ensure correct allocation and tagging of default accounts among field staff.
Enforce zero tolerance for:
Cash collection in the field
Harassment or unethical recovery practices
Unauthorized commitments to customers
Act as the first line of control for SAM field recovery compliance.
Ensure strict adherence to:
SAM SOPs
Fair Debt Collection Guidelines
SBP regulations and internal policies
Escalate compliance breaches or control issues to the Regional Manager without delay.
In case of resignation, absence, or attrition of field staff:
Re-tag all assigned accounts within 2–3 working days
Allocate cases to approved alternate FCDOs
Ensure uninterrupted recovery operations and prevent portfolio slippages due to staff movement.
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred)
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in:
Collections
Recovery operations
NPL / default portfolio management
Proven field team leadership experience is mandatory.
Strong execution and control orientation
Effective leadership and people management skills
High integrity with strong regulatory awareness
Ability to manage high-pressure and sensitive recovery portfolios
Excellent coordination, communication, and escalation skills
