The Area Manager Collections – Specialized Asset Management (SAM) is responsible for the end-to-end execution, control, and monitoring of recovery activities for defaulted, specialized, and charged-off portfolios within the assigned area.
This role ensures disciplined field execution, portfolio continuity, strict compliance with recovery standards, and achievement of assigned recovery targets in line with approved SAM strategies and governance frameworks.
Execute approved recovery strategies for:
90+ DPD accounts
Management-declared defaults
Charged-off portfolios
Drive focused recovery efforts through:
Settlement
Regularization
Resolution of defaulted accounts
Monitor recovery momentum and prevent portfolio stagnation
Support escalation of cases to:
Asset-backed recovery
Legal / litigation channels (where applicable)
Directly supervise Team Leads and Field Collection & Default Officers (FCDOs)
Ensure:
Proper customer coverage
Timely field visits
Accurate recording of visits, calls, and Promises to Pay (PTPs)
Conduct regular field reviews and validate the quality of recovery interactions
Enforce zero tolerance for:
Cash collection in the field
Harassment or unethical practices
Unauthorized commitments to customers
Ensure correct allocation and tagging of default accounts among FCDOs
Manage staff movements effectively by:
Re-tagging accounts within 2–3 working days in case of resignation, absence, or attrition
Allocating cases to approved alternate FCDOs
Ensure no recovery lapse due to staff movement
Maintain strict adherence to:
SAM SOPs
Fair Debt Collection Guidelines
SBP regulations and internal compliance requirements
Act as the first control checkpoint for field recovery compliance
Escalate any breaches or control issues to the Regional Manager without delay
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred)
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in:
Collections
Recovery
NPL / Default Portfolio Management
Proven experience in field team leadership is mandatory
Strong execution and control mindset
Effective leadership and people management skills
High integrity with strong regulatory awareness
Ability to manage high-pressure portfolios and sensitive recoveries
Strong coordination, communication, and escalation skills
