The Area Manager Collections – Specialized Asset Management (SAM) is responsible for leading and controlling recovery operations for defaulted, specialized, and charged-off portfolios within the assigned area. This role ensures disciplined field execution, regulatory compliance, portfolio continuity, and achievement of recovery targets in line with approved SAM strategies and governance frameworks.
Implement approved recovery strategies for 90+ DPD, management-declared default, and charge-off portfolios
Drive focused recovery efforts including settlement, regularization, and resolution
Monitor recovery performance to avoid portfolio stagnation
Support escalation of cases to asset-backed recovery or litigation, where applicable
Lead and supervise Team Leads and Field Collection & Default Officers (FCDOs)
Ensure:
Comprehensive customer coverage
Timely and effective field visits
Accurate recording of visits, calls, and Promise-to-Pays (PTPs)
Conduct regular field reviews to validate recovery quality and ethical conduct
Enforce zero tolerance for:
Cash collection in the field
Harassment or unethical recovery practices
Unauthorized commitments to customers
Ensure correct allocation and tagging of default accounts among FCDOs
Manage staff movements by:
Re-tagging accounts within 2–3 working days in case of resignation, absence, or attrition
Allocating cases to approved alternate FCDOs
Ensure uninterrupted recovery operations despite staff changes
Maintain strict compliance with:
SAM SOPs
Fair Debt Collection Guidelines
SBP regulations and internal policies
Act as the first line of control for field recovery compliance
Promptly escalate control breaches or compliance issues to the Regional Manager
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
5–7 years of relevant experience in:
Collections & Recovery
NPL / Default Portfolio Management
Proven field team leadership experience (mandatory)
Key Competencies
Strong execution and control orientation
Effective leadership and people management skills
High integrity with strong regulatory awareness
Ability to manage high-pressure and sensitive recovery portfolios
Excellent coordination and escalation capabilities
