The Area Manager Collections – Specialized Asset Management (SAM) is responsible for managing and executing end-to-end recovery activities for defaulted, specialized, and charged-off portfolios within the assigned area. The role ensures effective field execution, portfolio continuity, regulatory compliance, and achievement of recovery targets in line with approved SAM strategies and governance frameworks.
Execute approved recovery strategies for:
90+ DPD portfolios
Management-declared defaults
Charged-off accounts
Drive focused recovery efforts through:
Settlements
Regularization
Case resolution
Monitor recovery performance and prevent portfolio stagnation
Support escalation of cases to asset-backed recovery or litigation, where required
Lead and supervise Team Leads and Field Collection & Default Officers (FCDOs)
Ensure:
Comprehensive customer coverage
Timely and effective field visits
Accurate recording of visits, calls, and Promises to Pay (PTPs)
Conduct field reviews and ensure quality of customer interactions
Enforce zero tolerance for:
Cash collection in the field
Harassment or unethical recovery practices
Unauthorized commitments
Ensure accurate allocation and tagging of default accounts among FCDOs
Manage continuity during staff movement:
Re-tag all assigned accounts within 2–3 working days in case of resignation, absence, or attrition
Allocate cases to approved alternate FCDOs
Ensure no recovery lapse due to staff transitions
Maintain strict compliance with:
SAM Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Fair Debt Collection Guidelines
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and internal regulatory requirements
Act as the first line of control for field recovery compliance
Escalate control breaches or compliance issues to the Regional Manager promptly
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in:
Collections
Recoveries
NPL / default portfolio management
Proven field team leadership experience is mandatory
Strong execution and control orientation
Effective leadership and people management skills
High ethical standards and regulatory awareness
Ability to manage high-pressure and sensitive recovery portfolios
Strong coordination, communication, and escalation skills
