Natural Beauty Of Pakistan.........!!!Phandar lake , Phandar Valley, Ghizar, PAKISTAN

At an elevation of 1454 feet lies the Gilgit valley, offers spectacular scenic view. It is surrounded by lakes, rivers, glaciers and high mountain ranges. Gilgit city is one of the two major hubs for all mountaineering expeditions in the Gilgit-Baltistan . phandar is at a drive of 163 km from Gilgit city. Phandar valley is one of the most beautiful valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan. It is very famous among nature lovers and tourists with the name of "Little Kashmir". There are a many lakes (at least one lake after a drive of 30mints). phandar lake, 'kinisoteko lake', 'shahimal lake' are some of the worth mentioning and beautiful lakes. There are also a number of Glaciers in this valley but they are not as famous as it requires mountaineering to reach to them. Two very large and beautiful glaciers are ‘Ghonogh Glacier' and 'Gha cherkick'. These two glaciers are the main sources of irrigation water for the valley. They are not yet known to tourists and other people and I hope through this forum we will be able to bring them to the notice of nature lovers. O how can I not mention the very famous and delicious TROUT FISH. so for this is the only thing which has kept attracting people to the valley from local and foreigner despite many travelling difficulties which persisted for decades. But now the road is mettaled and it requires only a drive of 4-5 hours from Gilgit city which use to take 12-14 hours a few years back. Back to trout fish::: when it is the afternoon time the river banks are captured by local children and tourist putting their 'rod' in the river and it gives more pleasure when one drags the fish in the water (though I feel pity for this lovely creature) and brings it to the bank and during the whole process your excitement increases with each rotation of the machine.
