Lenovo Shows Ultra Light Weight Laptop, LaVie Z Notebook

Lenovo is one of the world’s largest brands of PCs and laptops and often comes up with devices that can change the public opinion about buying devices. Recently the company shows up an ultra-light-weight laptop LaVie Z HZ550 notebook. The weight of the laptop is just 1.72 pounds that makes it world’s lightest, as claimed by the company. Its body is 16.9 mm thin and it is having Intel 5th generation Core i5 processor. Usually companies carry fan-less core M processor to build thin and light weight laptops but this time the company has chosen the strange choice of installing Intel processor and still made it light weight. And if you are thinking that there will be low pair of spec due to ultra-light-weight then you are wrong as it is having 13.3 inches display with decent screen resolution of 2560 x 1440. There’s no touch screen on the original model but there is convertible Z model that flips around 360 degree and can be upgraded to core i7. The convertible is slightly heavier at 2.04 pounds, but it’s largely identical to LaVie Z. Lenovo is using an IGZO display in both models, a choice that should help with battery life. The reason of this ultra-light-weight laptop is that the company has used magnesium lithium alloy chassis developed by NEC that is almost 50% lighter than the aluminum and as strong as many magnesium built laptops, said Lenovo. Both models will be available in the US in May, with the basic HZ550 (without touchscreen) priced at $1,299 and the convertible HZ750 priced at approximately $1,499. In 2013, Lenovo was the world’s largest personal computer vendor by unit sales. It markets the ThinkPad line of notebook computers and the ThinkCentre line of desktops.
