Solar panels to be installed at water filtration plants

Presiding over a high-level meeting recently regarding the improvements of Punjab Clean Water Project, Chief Minister Punjab has said that new facilitation centers are establishing soon and the water filtration plants will be attached to the solar panels under this project to save electricity. water Initially, 307 water filtration plants will be installed in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, and Bahawalpur during the first phase after which the project will be extended to the whole province of Punjab. Shahbaz Sharif ordered to geotag all the areas of Punjab and further said that the target of 2017 has been set to ensure the access to clean water to the majority of the population. The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister for Housing Tanvir Aslam Malik, Chairperson Clean water Project Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Chairman Planning and Development Muhammad Irfan Elahi and other relevant secretaries. CM advised all departments to work with mutual cooperation and stretch the project speedily. He also ordered to conduct the third party audit for Rural Water supply programs as soon as possible. It is important to note that Punjab Government has initiated a lot of projects to install solar panels throughout the province which are proved to be very fruitful and additionally, keeping in mind the severe energy crisis in Pakistan, the Government of Punjab has recently announced to distribute free solar lamps to the general public soon.
