Citizens to get online motor vehicle registration facility soon

Presiding over a high-level meeting regarding motor registration number plates, the Minister for Finance, Taxation, and Excise Punjab Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman has recently disclosed that Excise and Taxation Department is finalizing the reforms to connect 36 districts of Punjab online for the purpose of motor vehicle registration.laptop-2 With the help of this reform, the citizens will be able to register their motor vehicles online and also allowed to choose the number of their choice. Moreover, they would be able to pay token tax and get stickers containing all the details of the token tax. He added that the government has embraced computerization and e-technology as a policy which is turning out to be fruitful and resulting in the efficient recovery of property, token and services taxes. The meeting was attended by Secretary Prosecution, Secretary Excise and Taxation, Director General including other senior officials belonging to police, law, finance and Excise & Taxation Department. Currently, the citizens have the facility of online vehicle verification and additionally less than a year ago, Punjab Excise & Taxation Department had also started new SMS Service to deliver computerised number plates to the citizens through Courier Service.
