Modis oath taking PM Nawaz arrives in India

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today (Monday) arrived in New Delhi to attend the oath taking ceremony of Indian Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister is accompanies by Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz Special Assistant to PM on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi, Secretary to PM Javed Aslam Aizaz Ahmed and son Hussain Nawaz. Narendra Modis swearing-in ceremony to be held at the forecourt of the historic Rashtrapati Bhavan is likely to be attended by as many as 3000 guests including leaders of all South Asian countries. It is the first time since the two countries won independence in 1947 that a prime minister from one state will attend such a ceremony in the other. The event will provide an opportunity to the two sides to devise a strategy to normalize their relations and ensure peace in the region.
