15 policemen punished

LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Chaudhry Shafique Ahmad suspended demoted and forfeited service of 15 police officers including six SHOs, six traffic wardens and three constables on different charges. The CCPO awarded punishment during hearing of various appeals of 60 policemen at Orderly Room on Monday. He suspended sub-inspectors Iftikhar Ahmad and Akhtar Hussain, traffic wardens Jamshed Ahmad Khan, Zafar Iqbal, Nabeel Sayyed, Naseer Ahmad, Shaukat Ali and Shamshad Ali, Constables Muhammad Sajid, Muhammad Arshad and Amir Rasheed for power abuse and illegal custody delay in registration of FIRs, misbehaviour with people negligence in duty and corruption. He also demoted and forfeited two year service of Inspector Zulfiqar Ahmad, sub-inspector Karamat Ali, Ghulam Abbas and ASI Muhammad Hanif. Chaudhry Shafique issued orders to end punishment of 30 policemen after accepting their appeals.
