3G subscribers achieve 7.67 million mark in Pakistan
According to updated statistics shared by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the cellular operators have secured around 7,678,279 3G subscribers i.e 7.67 million, by the end of December 2014.3G subscribers Previously, the data of 3G subscribers of Ufone were not added to the list of December 2014 and therefore, the total subscribers were 6.37 million. But now Ufone has provided the authority with the current data regarding 3G subscribers. Moreover, this time the authority has also updated the data for 3G subscribers of Ufone which was missing in the report from July to September 2014 and mentioned at the end that “Ufone figures are revised and updated.” These latest statistics reveal that Telenor scored the highest numbers of 3G subscribers (2.26 million) till the end of the year 2014. After Telenor, Ufone ranked second with 1.95 million, Mobilink with 1.79 million while Zong comes at the last position with 1.66 million 3G subscribers. Earlier in November 2014, Zong had the highest number of 3G subscribers according to the indicators of PTA. In addition to the lowest number of 3G subscribers, Zong 4G services are also failed to get popularity among masses as it holds only 2,242 4G subscribers in total by the end of 2014. However, the data of 4G subscribers of Warid Telecom is not added to the list but hopefully PTA will be putting it up in the upcoming statistics of January 2015.
