Twitter working on pop-up notifications on its website

Twitter has revealed plans that it is working for real time pop-up notifications for its users on its website. These pop-up notifications will help users to get instant notification that they have received a reply on their tweet or when someone retweets some of their tweet. These notifications will also pop-up when a tweet is favorited. It will pop up when users receive a direct message or new followers. Within the notification box, Twitter users can directly respond to the action by typing out a response. These notifications can even be tamed according to taste of the users so that they can control them the way there are displayed. Just like Email notifications, users will have the ability to turn off notifications for specific actions as well as limit notifications based on who is tweeting. This also applies to the mobile version of Twitter. Users can limit the number and type of push notifications that appear on their smartphone or tablet. This notification system will roll out with the already worked out new profiles of the Twitter users and as you have noticed this notification system is fairly similar to the notification mechanism of Facebook. These notification pop-up are going to be coupled with changing Re-tweet button to Share.
