Microsoft to go with Windows OS all along, stops Android services

After laying off some 18,000 workers, Microsoft has announced to halt its terms with Android based Nokia X handsets and Nokia Features Phones and decided to go with its own Windows OS. All the stuff happened so quickly with the arrival of the new CEO, Satya Nadella who hinted the things a few days ago including making strong market for Windows Phone and cutting down jobs. It can be concluded that the workforce associated with the manufacturing of Android and Feature Phones will be thrown out as it will be of no use for the company Stephen Elop, the executive vice president of Microsoft’s Devices and Services Business emailed all the staff. In the email, he told that they had made some changes in order to devise a comprehensive strategy to acquire appropriate financial covering. He shared company’s idea about Windows Phones that will be the main focus of the company in upcoming future. He said that the company need to be more focused and sharp in developing quality Window Phones, both, affordable and high end. It is clear that high end Lumias are going to catch the market very soon. Although the Feature phones were the main driving force behind the popularity of Nokia but they will be disregarded by the company for at least 18 months. In this time span, Microsoft will devise its new strategies and work on the up gradation and quality of Windows Phones. Company’s experiment with Android powered Nokia X went not so well either as fragile Android Nokia X had failed to gain the momentum in the market. So for those hoping for yet another Android powered Nokia handset should now disperse there hopes in viewing company’s new decision. The new decisions that has been made by company are quick and smart. It will be interesting to observe the new focused strategy of the company. With new CEO Nadella, the company is all set to revamp its own operating system with endless opportunities for the developers. Company’s new decision to part their ways with Android is clearly a sign that company also need a sophisticated identity in the smartphone world along with Google and Apple.
