e-governance spreading its wings across Pakistan

Pakistan is witnessing a major shift in the traditional working patterns and procedures of the government and just recently Jhang Police has also adopted a modern way to keep the record of the data and thus another district of Pakistan to develop and implement online FIR management information system (FIR MIS). The data of all the police stations of Jhang District has now shifted to the computerized system due to which the monitoring of the cases has become very convenient for the police department. E-Governance Looking at the progress of Jhang Police, the Punjab Information Commission has directed the Punjab police to speed up work on online FIR management information system (FIR MIS) to ensure effective service delivery to the citizens. But the most interesting part of the story is that implementation of e-governance for the benefit of citizens is not only limited to Punjab only as KPK Police had already introduced online FIR System some two years back followed by Lahore and Karachi Police. In addition to this, the government and Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom Pakistan are constantly pledging to make Pakistan a digital country by introducing e-governance throughout all the departments and consequences have started to appear on the scene gradually. However, in order to implement e-governance completely, there is a dire need of consistent efforts, proper facilities and dedicated time for the efficient results and all the stakeholders are also required to work in collaboration with each other.
