Taliban in Pakistan made their own website

Taliban in Pakistan made their own website
Notorious Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had launched its own website to may be polish its Public Relations (PR) but it is nowhere to be found now on cyber space. Named as Umer Media, website carried videos, sermons and addresses of the top leadership of the banned outfit. TTP already has a presence in the social media of the country in the form of Facebook and Twitter pages. This website, whose URL is not available now, contained TTP flag, verses from Holly Quran, statements and videos containing sectarian, hate and propaganda material. Security forces were especially targeted in the content available on the website. It also carried message for people of Balochistan and pictures of houses that suffered during shelling from Pakistan Army. It also contained the link to the magazine of the banned outfit. Email addresses for TTP spokesperson Shahid Ullah Shahid and Umar media were also available on the website. anned outfit launched this website to be a source for ‘confirmed’ news for their involvement in terrorist attacks in Pakistan. It seems that this site was going to serve the purpose same as the Associated Press Pakistan (APP) or Press Information Department (PID), news departments run by Pakistani government. Website from Taliban is an initiative that points towards sophistication and brain that is being utilized to run the whole organization. No matter how much you hate the Tehreek, it is always shocking to see them working on lines that are still way too futuristic to the understanding of the ruling elite of this country. They always succeed to defy the notion that they are just bunch of illiterate tribal men who have resorted to arms to fight for an Islamic sharia. Initiatives like launching a website tell that they are nothing like savage barbarians ,as we portray them in our imaginations, who have no know how of the modern technology. This is not the first time that they have launched a platform on the internet to interact with masses. Earlier on, Taliban in Afghanistan had also launched Taliban Online, a question answer service to clear the ‘confusion’ about their mission in the mind of a common man. There is no doubt in the intellectual superiority and master minding craft of these people who are not even university grads. May be those who work with the web development and graphics might be some guys with certificates but the top leadership in Taliban are no university grads unlike our Army and Political Elite who is well educated and even majority of them being educated in foreign alma maters. May be it’s believe on their mission that makes them better than us even if we think that they are on wrong side. Bilawal is the only leader in Pakistan who has actually understood the worth of cyberspace as he actively uses Twitter for giving his stance on various issues. Sadly, the pundits of political scene in Pakistan look down on Bilawal for this and put him in the bracket of political immature who has no sense of Politics.
