Punjab government to give laptops to matric students

The laptop fever is going to be high once again as government of Punjab has announced that it will give laptops to those who have secured 78% or above marks in their matriculation examination. The announcement came from Minister of Education Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan in an event took place Al-Hamra Hall where he said that the govt wanted to continue their policy of distributing laptops among the students with distinctive marks in order to improve the educational facilities in the province of Punjab. He also said that this idea is the extension of the govt program of awarding laptops to the bright students of Colleges and Universities. The distribution of the laptops will be started in next ten days. He said that Punjab is the only province where proper youth policy had been introduced. With Rs. 11 billion of Punjab Education Endowment Fund, more than seventy thousand students are continuing their education, while in the remote areas of the province, 1.5 million deprived children are being given education through Punjab Education Foundation enlightening vouchers via private schools. No doubt laptops are effective tools to reach the content but Punjab Govt also need to work on ground level in other cities and far away areas of Punjab. There is terrible situation of schools in the rural areas of Southern Punjab and students from remote areas are cruising towards big cities like Faisalabad, Multan and Lahore which is making the situation even worse. Also in big cities like Lahore and Faisalabad the situation of the govt schools is adverse but govt looks totally irresponsible in this area. May be some kickbacks would miss if the govt intends to proffer its focus to deliver better educational facilities in govt schools.
